To the Hamilton Filipino Community,
My name is Olivia Virag and I am a project coordinator for CALIPER, a
nationwide health initiative at McMaster Children's Hospital. The project
started at SickKids Hospital in Toronto and has expanded into other
pediatric centers across Canada. To date, we have had over 7200 children
participate in the project with over 1000 of them just in the Hamilton area
alone.
CALIPER's main goals are to improve the diagnosis and treatment of children
within Canada. We are developing reference intervals to find out what is
healthy and normal among our pediatric population. To help find accurate
information, we have developed relationships with various cultures and
ethnicities within the Hamilton community and would love the chance for the
children of the Filipino community to take part!
